Shucks! is a oyster “shuck truck” concept inspired by the Venice, California vibe and food culture. Shucks! aims to sit at the intersection between east-coast seafood sentiments and west-coast beachy lifestyle. A lot of my visual inspiration came from historic sandwich delis in Los Angeles, including their color palettes, use of typography, and physical spaces such as bars and menu boards. The final visual identity for Shucks! has a modern, funky aesthetic that maintains a vintage-inspired look and feel. The menu, inspired by upscale destination restaurants on the coast of Maine and New York, combines a fast-casual speed with an elevated dining experience, perfect for picnicing in the park or an office lunchbreak. The combined “bottle bar” offers a selection of local natural wines to grab on the go. The social strategy has a specific photography style that advertises not only the mobile culinary experience, but also the lifestyle that inspired it.
