A24 is American independent entertainment company founded in 2012. A24 as a brand is professional yet independently driven. They specialize in visually stunning stories with an offbeat sense of humor in settings or perspectives never seen before. A24 supports independent filmmakers by producing and distributing their work in a way that reaches a large audience but still maintains an indie and small production company feeling. In the past few years, they have produced award winning films and television shows, and have received a total of 25 academy awards and countless more nominations. This project was to create an annual report to shareholders, documenting its activities and finances in the previous financial year (2021).
In this report, I articulated communication between financial standing as well as business opportunities through infographics, imagery, and layouts. The annual report, though being considered grey literature, still represents the spunk and energy that A24 has as a brand. The typography follows A24’s existing branding, with an extended grotesque typeface which gives more energy and character to a customary san serif. The copy is written in a way that has a lot of quirk and voice, making a traditionally boring document more engaging and entertaining. There are also small motifs from every big film production A24 had produced that year, such as sticky notes, googly eyes, film sprockets, and more easter eggs.
